
Naima Renee Dobbs Bio
Naima Renèe Dobbs is a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist and educator born and raised in Atlanta, GA. Her practice centers around electronic music production, songwriting, and textile art, melding the three in a process she calls sythetwine. She releases music under the stage name Nailoh and is 1/2 of the ambient house duo, Forgotten Warmth Becomes Dust, who releases their debut self-titled EP in September 2024.
Naima graduated with high honors from NYU with a degree in Africana Studies and Spanish. Her thesis, Creative Reckonings: Black Public Art and Gentrification in Atlanta, GA, was awarded Best Thesis Honorable Mention. Upon graduation, she also received the Africana Studies Award, Sherborne Vernon Damerel Memorial Prize, and was accepted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Naima Renèe Dobbs currently works full time at the Brooklyn Museum as a Teen Programs Coordinator, facilitating the paid high school internships centering art, advocacy, and subversive creativity.
