Beautiful People,
For a moment, turning 70 made me uncomfortable. The past few years since the Ascension of MOM Betty J Tilman had been challenging.
She had left this Earth Realm at 9:15pm on June 29, 2022. She had willed her body to science but because of Covid, that was not possible and I had to decide quickly what to do.
I kept hearing Ancients, Ancestors and Angels whisper. At the time, it seemed like cremation was my best option.
Years before she had mentioned that she wanted her ashes spread in different parts of the World where she had traveled. I kept her precious ashes in an unopened box.
The past few years I have not celebrated a birthday because it reminds me that she is not physically present.
Actually that is NOT true.
My Beloved Queen Mother had been sending me legacy treasures on my birthday for many, many years. Beautiful memories live in my heart and all around me in my Harlem apartment. Artwork, books, crystal, instruments, silverware, even a few pieces of her furniture now have a home with me. Eventually some it will leave me; hopefully to be Lovingly cared for and enjoyed for generations.
Her presence is comforting. I kept hearing Ancients, Ancestors and Angels whispers.
The powerful new book GOOD IS POWERFUL BEYOND MEASURE: An Anthology of Hope! was born out of those Whispers.
Brandon Jennings created a magnificent portrait of MOMBetty.
Ben Vereen wrote the Foreword. A section honors him, Carol Maillard, Louise Robinson and the 50th Anniversary of Sweet Honey In The Rock. Dr. Ysaye M. Barnwell’s song WE ARE opens the section on Ms. Betty J. Tilman and more than 100 remarkable people share their exquisite Sacred ReMemberings.
Today I embrace the messages from MOMBetty that come in my dreams, through music, conversations or even food cravings.
I find myself preparing eggs with sweet potatoes, spinach and avocados, shrimp and okra with rice, sauteed butter lemon salmon with pasta, carrots and baby tomatoes. Butter pecan ice cream, with ginger bread sweet potato or bean pies along with ginger snaps cookies as dessert options.
Upon receiving an invitation to visit Senegal again, I kept hearing Ancients, Ancestors and Angels whisper the name Kehinde Wiley and Black Rock Senegal. His Spirit of Creativity and Compassion remind me of MOMBetty J. Tilman.
Miraculously, yesterday Adame and Bamba, took me to Black Rock Senegal. I was able to release some of My Beloved Queen MOMBetty’s ashes in the Atlantic Ocean at the Black Rock Senegal beach. Bamba photographed me.

I joyfully celebrate the beginning of my 70th B’Earth Year. Thank You MOMBetty for Birthing Me. I and many others are living proof of Your Legacy of Compassion and Love for Humanity!
